Car Hire at JKIA: Airport Pickup Tips
Arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport? How to arrange airport car hire pickup in Nairobi, what to confirm in advance, and which cars suit luggage.
Book before you land
Confirm your car before flying so the rental company can plan delivery around your arrival time. Share your flight number so they can track delays.
Confirm these details
Ask the rental company to confirm in writing:
- Meeting point at arrivals and the driver's contact number
- Whether airport delivery has an extra fee
- Deposit amount and how it is refunded
- Fuel level at handover and expected return level
Pick a car for your luggage
Two people with suitcases fit comfortably in a station wagon or compact SUV. Families and groups are better served by a 7-seater van.
